The Mothercare Initiative

A Movement Towards a supported Mother

At Mother Love, we believe every mother deserves to be held, nourished, and cared for in the tender weeks and months after birth. Yet too often, care for mothers is absent — replaced by isolation, financial strain, and the expectation to “bounce back.”

The Mothercare Initiative was born as an answer to this gap.

Our Mission

To restore postpartum care as an essential, non-negotiable part of motherhood.
Through community funding and collaboration with doulas, students, and care practitioners, we are creating pathways for mothers to receive practical and emotional support — regardless of their financial circumstances.

How It Works

  • Community Funded: A portion of every Mother Love purchase, alongside donations, flows directly into the Mother Care Initiative.

  • Phase One: Providing free nourishing products (such as tonic blends, bath soaks, and blends) to mothers in need.

  • Phase Two: Partnering with local doulas and postpartum training programs, where students can offer home visits — cooking, cleaning, companionship, and support for new mothers.

  • Direct Reciprocity: If we raise $500 in a month, that translates into $500 of direct postpartum care. Nothing is lost to overhead. Every dollar raised becomes care given.

Why We’re Doing This

So many mothers today are left without the care they truly need. Postpartum support is often financially out of reach, and yet it should never be considered a luxury — it is as vital as birth itself.

We may not yet have the village our ancestors relied on, but if we don’t have the village, we must find ways to buy the care.

To make it accessible. To make it possible.

Our Invitation to Doulas

We are seeking doulas and postpartum practitioners who feel aligned with this vision and would like to:

  • Offer their wisdom in shaping the initiative

  • Create opportunities for their students to gain hands-on postpartum care experience

  • Provide paid or funded care visits made possible through the Mothercare Initiative

This is a collaboration grounded in reciprocity: mothers receive the care they deserve, doulas expand their reach, and communities begin to remember the ancient truth — that when mothers are held, all of society thrives.

Let’s Collaborate

If this mission resonates with you, we’d love to connect. Together, we can re-imagine how postpartum support is offered, and ensure no mother is left without care.
